Today 7% of adults in America use CBD products and this number is expected to grow to 10% by the end of the year.

This growth is due to more states legalizing the CBD compound, and the health benefits of CBD are proving to be beneficial, driving consumer interest.

In short, the CBD market is booming

CBD is short for cannabidiol and it’s a compound found in marijuana or hemp. The compound has been gaining popularity due to its non-psychoactive nature, which means it doesn’t make one feel ‘high’ compared to THC.

CBD has been used by medical patients for a while now and it’s helped relieve joint pain, battle eczema, reduced inflammation, and many more ailments.

As popularity grows, the compound is now part of mainstream products and can be found in various food and beverage items.

The latest use of CBD is with water, known as CBD water. A nano-cannabidiol molecule is infused into the water to give the properties of CBD, but taste like regular mineral water.

What is CBD Water?

The nano-cannabidiol molecule that makes up CBD water is mixed with various other beneficial vitamins and minerals. The CBD nano-molecule in the water makes its way through the intestinal wall quickly for quick absorption, where it then binds with cannabinoid receptors and delivers its intended effects.

This makes it an appealing product – water is inherently good, and now one can also derive the benefits of CBD while consuming it

Taste-wise, one will find no discernable difference between CBD water and regular mineral water. And in fact, many CBD water products are now starting to follow the flavored water trend to give it a pleasant refreshing taste.

How is CBD Water Made?

CBD water is made the same way mineral water is. It’s complicated science but here is a simplified description:

The nano-cannabidiol molecule we mentioned earlier is created using nanotechnology to be one-millionth the size of regular CBD molecules. These are then fused with water molecules – a process known as infusing.

This isn’t done for fun. Scientists and engineers deliberately create CBD water this way to ensure that the cannabidiol molecules can quickly be absorbed by the body.

As the molecules are now tiny, it can permeate through cells as it passes through the body. This is the closest to quick absorption one can get without intravenously injecting CBD directly into the bloodstream.

The advantage of this method is less CBD is wasted during consumption, and the higher probability all of it is used up – known as high bioavailability.

Edible CBD, on the other hand, will have a lot more of its molecules removed from the body after passing through the digestive tract, making it a more ‘inefficient’ method of consumption.

For example, edibles are known to lose up to 90% efficacy.

The significant advantage of CBD water over other forms of CBD ingestion is this high efficacy for a small dosage of CBD.

Benefits of CBD Water

CBD water is reported to offer many benefits, and some have been proven through various research studies. Others still require more long-term studies to validate.

In short, the benefits delivered by CBD water are due to the cannabidiol compound and consist of the following:

  • Better blood circulation
  • Better sleep
  • Lowers anxiety and severity of any mental psychosis
  • Lowers blood sugar levels
  • Helps in fighting tumor and cancer cells
  • Helps suppress chronic muscle spasms
  • Alleviates pain
  • Combats depression
  • Encourages bone regeneration / growth
  • Reduces chances of seizure
  • Reduces acne
  • Increase appetite

Now some of these are reported benefits and haven’t been entirely proven through long-term, in-depth scientific studies.

The issue with a recently regulated industry comes with this risk. However, here are some proven benefits backed by research that we can explore in more detail:

Anxiety and Depression Relief

One of the most common uses of CBD is for anxiety relief.

It’s known to have anxiolytic properties that help promote calmness and a sense of ease if used. This is partly due to its ability to bind with receptors in the brain that are used by serotonin, a neurotransmitter important in regulating mood and social behavior.

A recent study was able to demonstrate that the active cannabidiol components helped improve symptoms of depression and psychosis in patients. Moreover, another large scale study showed significant improvements in anxiety and sleep quality as a result of CBD use.

The CBD component in CBD water is also known to be a potent antioxidant.

As antioxidants are great at preventing cell degeneration and helps reduce the number of free radicals in the body. CBD can help reduce the chances of diseases or severe conditions caused partly by these free radicals such as cancer or Alzheimer’s.

Studies conducted as early as 1998 have shown CBD contains antioxidant and neuroprotective properties. Moreover, it’s been demonstrated that the potency of CBD as an antioxidant is even higher than those of vitamin C or E.

Inflammation Relief

CBD water can also help with inflammation relief

It has been shown to be useful as an anti-inflammatory agent, both in neurological settings and when it comes to autoimmune conditions. Moreover, it’s been touted as providing the same potency as standard over the counter anti-inflammatory medications.

Pain Relief

Pain relief is something that CBD has been long known for.

The compound has been used for pain relief since 2900 B.C in various forms, and it’s no surprise that CBD water can demonstrate the same benefits.

The cannabinoid can bind with the endocannabinoid receptors in the brain that partly help regulate functions such as pain in the body. As a result, studies have shown CBD has demonstrated improvements in pain, such as with arthritis patients.

Acne Reduction

CBD water can also be beneficial in helping manage and reduce acne.

A study noticed the anti-inflammatory benefits coupled with the ability for CBD to influence sebum production has helped result in less acne formation

CBD also helped reduce the activation of cytokines which contribute towards acne formation.

Neuroprotective Properties

The cannabinoids also have neuroprotective properties that can help remove dead or damaged cells and improve the activities of mitochondrial cells.

The antioxidant properties of CBD also reduce the build-up of glutamate. Glutamate can result in overstimulation of nerve cells in the brain leading to damage.

CBD helps prevent this from occurring. A study showed that low doses of CBD have also encouraged the creation of new cells in aging brains.

Recommended Dosage of CBD

Black Rain CBD Infused Products

How much CBD water should be consumed really depends on the level of CBD dosage that one’s looking to take on.

If it’s purely for natural health-boosting purposes, then consuming 10 to 25 mg of CBD-infused water each day should be more than enough.

If the CBD water is designed to support a more significant treatment plan for a certain medical condition, then it’s recommended for one to consume 2 to 10 mg of CBD water per 1kg of body weight.

The right level of dosage is best determined by consulting a medical professional if it’s intended to be used to help manage an existing health issue.

Cost of CBD Water

Currently, CBD water is more expensive than other forms of CBD such as oils or edibles. It’s estimated that most CBD oils cost about half what an average CBD water bottle does for a similar dosage.

However, do keep in mind it may be more expensive but the efficiency of absorption (known as bioavailability) of the CBD inside is much greater with CBD water compared to other forms of ingestion.

In some ways, one gets a better bang for their buck.

Moreover, most CBD water products come infused with additional minerals that help boost their health benefits.

CBD is gaining strong adoption due to its many health benefits. CBD water, in particular, is a great way to build a daily habit of not just CBD but also water intake.

The key advantage CBD water may have over other forms is due to its use of nanotechnology that boosts its efficacy compared to other methods of consuming CBD.

Additionally, one doesn’t have to worry about the associated tastes that come with using hemp tinctures or edibles. It may be a tad more expensive, but can a price be put on better well-being?
